Trademark Engine Review: Good for Filing Trademark Applications?

This is an in-depth Trademark Engine review that enlightens you on everything you need to know about this product.

Let’s dive in.

About Trademark Engine

So, you’ve come across Trademark Engine, a service that claims to offer a cheap and easy way to register your brand name or logo.

But hold up! Before you dive in, let’s take a closer look at what this service is all about.

Trademark Engine proudly calls itself a trademark registration service, sounds all fancy, right? But here’s the catch: They only provide information and software, nothing more.

You will see the following if you scroll to the bottom of their website:

Trademark Engine provides information and software only. Trademark Engine is not a “lawyer referral service” and does not provide legal advice or participate in any legal representation.

This means they won’t give you any legal advice, and they won’t represent you in any legal matters either. If you were hoping to get some valuable insights, guidance, or recommendations related to trademarks and trademark registration, you might be out of luck.

And here is an even better disclaimer you can find on their site:

Trademark Engine is not a law firm and none of the information on this website constitutes or is intended to convey legal advice.  Likewise, our customer service representatives are here to assist you, but they may not provide any legal advice to you.  General information about the law is not the same as advice about the application of the law in a particular factual or legal situation.  Individual facts and circumstances as well as legal principles including but not limited to the ones referenced on this website can affect the outcome of any given situation.  Trademark Engine cannot and does not guarantee that an application will be approved by the USPTO, that a mark will be protected from infringement under common US trademark law, or that any ensuing litigation or dispute will lead to a favorable outcome.  If you want or have an interest in obtaining legal advice with respect to a specific situation or set of circumstances, you should consult with the lawyer of your choice.

And I get it! Registering your brand and protecting your precious logo is a big deal.

You’ve got all these important questions and concerns swirling around in your mind, and you need someone reliable to address them. But, unfortunately, Trademark Engine won’t be the one to do that for you.

So, now that you know what Trademark Engine isn’t good for, you might be wondering what they actually have to offer, right? Well, worry not! I’m about to spill the beans and give you all the details real soon.

Trademark Engine Registration Packages

let’s take a deep dive into Trademark Engine’s trademark registration packages, so we can answer the big question: Is Trademark Engine legit?

Well, let me break it down for you, and you’ll see why it’s not recommended.

Trademark Engine “Basic Package” – $99 Down the Drain!

Sure, the “Basic Package” may seem cheap at $99, but here’s the kicker.

First, they claim to offer a direct-hit search of the USPTO database, but guess what? You can do that yourself for free using the USPTO’s “Basic Word Mark Search” option.

Trademark Engine doesn’t even analyze the search results or give you any guidance on whether your trademark is eligible for registration.

Next, they say they’ll prepare and file your trademark application, but the truth is, you’re doing all the work.

You fill out their online questionnaire, and they simply copy and paste your answers onto the USPTO application form.

You could save that $99 and go straight to the USPTO website, where the application form is available for free.

Lastly, they boast about the electronic delivery of your application, but that’s nothing special.

The USPTO provides a PDF copy when you electronically file, and Trademark Engine charges you to send you the same thing that you could get yourself instantly.

Trademark Engine “Standard Package” – An Extra $50 for Useless Extras!

The “Standard Package” costs $149, and for that extra $50, you get a customizable cease and desist letter, a template trademark transfer and assignment form, and six months of trademark monitoring.

Sounds nice, right? Not so fast!

What if your trademark application gets rejected? Well, then these extras are completely worthless. You’ve paid $50 for nothing. Even if your trademark is approved, these items still aren’t worth it.

The customizable cease and desist letter may sound good, but trust me, there’s no one-size-fits-all letter for legal matters like this.

You need a personalized approach, and only an experienced trademark attorney can provide that and prepare an appropriate cease and desist notice if needed.

The trademark assignment form is dangerous. Transferring ownership of your valuable assets with a generic form without legal counsel is risky.

You might not even know if something’s wrong until a challenge arises, and by then, it might be too late.

As for the trademark monitoring service, it’s not worth it unless you have the resources to take legal action against potential infringers.

Legal battles can be costly, and this service won’t do you any good if you can’t afford to pursue infringements.

Trademark Engine “Deluxe Package” – The Price is Not Worth It!

The “Deluxe Package” costs a whopping $199 and includes everything from the Basic and Standard packages, plus one year of trademark monitoring and expedited filing within 24 business hours. But here’s the truth.

The one year of trademark monitoring is unnecessary for most small businesses without vast resources. Pursuing potential infringements can be costly and time-consuming.

As for expedited filing, Trademark Engine claims they’ll do it within 24 business hours, but that’s not impressive.

Many trademark attorneys can prepare and file an application within two days or less. You’re practically doing all the work yourself, so it should be faster.

So, there you have it! Trademark Engine might seem tempting with its packages, but it’s not worth it.

It’s better to consult with an experienced trademark attorney who can provide personalized advice and guide you through the process properly. Don’t be fooled by the fancy packages and spend your hard-earned money wisely!

What is the Best Trademark Engine’s Alternative?

I believe that for those who take their business seriously, The Trademark Company’s services may not be sufficient to fulfill their needs. If you’re looking for a more comprehensive alternative that addresses the shortcomings of The Trademark Company, I strongly suggest considering Trademark Factory.

Here at Trademark Factory, our mission is to help growth-minded entrepreneurs build amazing brands.

The thing is, you can’t build an amazing brand unless you OWN the brand you’re building. And the only way to own your brand is to trademark it.

Here are the reasons why we are currently the best trademark registration firm in the world.

1. All-Inclusive Service

Once they onboard you as a client, their team of legal professionals and advisors will handle all aspects of your trademark registration process.

Their experienced attorneys and trademark agents will ensure a stress-free process, with no need for you to worry about anything.

You will only be contacted as needed for any required information or documents.

Once you provide the necessary information to the team, they will take care of drafting and filing your application, ensuring that all necessary legal requirements are met for your trademark to be registered.

What sets Trademark Factory apart is their 100% done-for-you service. Once you choose to work with them, you can simply relax and watch as your brand is successfully trademarked without any additional fees.

It’s worth noting that you’ll receive all of the services offered by Trademark Engine with them but with a one-time fee; no recurring payments.

2. Fixed-Rate

Another reason Trademark Factory stands out is that they offer a flat-rate fee, which covers the entire trademarking process.

Unlike other trademark firms, which may charge hourly rates or additional fees for objections or further actions, they only require a one-time payment.

This means that even if your trademark process requires a full legal team, you will not be charged by the hour.

There are no hidden costs or extra demands for payment, no matter how many objections are raised against your application.

Depending on the plan you choose, your one-time fee will cover a comprehensive trademark search, application filing, response to office actions, and more.

These services are typically charged individually or hourly by other trademark firms.

3. Guaranteed Results

Trademark Factory has a success rate of 99.3%, meaning that the likelihood of your brand being successfully trademarked is high.

However, they also understand that sometimes things may not go as planned. That’s why they have a 100% money-back guarantee policy in place.

In the event that you do not receive the trademark services that you paid for, you will be entitled to a full refund. This policy covers you both before and after filing your application.

Before-filing refund means that if they identify any issues with trademarking your brand, they will provide you with a full refund. Alternatively, they will keep searching until they find a brand that you can own.

After-filing refund means that if they find your brand suitable for trademarking and they file the application, but it gets disapproved by the Trademarks office, you will receive a full refund.

This is regardless of how many office actions we may have responded to.

With over 9 years of experience and having filed 2885 trademarks with over 99% success rates, they stand behind their promises and guarantee to deliver the results you expect.

4. Large Team

Trademark Factory pride itself on having a robust team of over 30 professionals with diverse areas of expertise.

With such a large and experienced team, they can match the right specialist to handle each aspect of your brand’s trademarking process.

Their team of attorneys, trademark agents, and support staff work together seamlessly to ensure that every step of the trademarking process is handled with utmost care and attention to detail.

This is what sets them apart from other firms that may outsource certain tasks or lack the necessary resources to handle everything in-house.

With Trademark Factory, you can be confident that you have a complete team of professionals working for you, dedicated to helping you protect your brand.

5. Free Call with One of their Specialists

During this call, their advisor will take the time to understand your business goals and recommend the best package for you.
